The role
As a Financial accountant, you will be a central member of the Financial Control team, reporting to the Finance Manager, while also assisting the Financial Planning & Analysis team to deliver on the financial objectives of the Group.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our day-to-day operations, month end process, regulatory reporting and budgeting and forecasting.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist Financial Control and FP&A with accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc projects.
- Oversee daily cash transactions and bank reconciliations.
- Lead journal processing, loan book reconciliations, accrual reviews, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Guide and support the accounts receivable officer.
- Assist in processing and managing accounts receivable and revenue.
- Handle journal entries and month-end reconciliations for trust accounts.
- Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with UK standards.
- Act as a key contact during external audits, maintaining strong auditor relationships.
- Assist in tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and other statutory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update the Anaplan reporting system.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive Management and Board Reporting packs.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1-2 years’ relevant experience.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Great communicator and collaborator, across the business and with our external stakeholders
- Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Blackline and/or Anaplan is advantageous
- Commercial experience in a Financial Services / FinTech setting highly regarded.
