Common questions answered
Tap to Pay is available to customers with a Prospa Business Account, with Tap to Pay transactions settled directly into the Prospa Business Account.
The first step is to apply for a Prospa Business Account. Apply by logging into the Prospa App or visiting prospa.com. Once approved for a Business Account, you’ll be able to apply for Tap to Pay through the Prospa App.
We’ll notify you within one business day whether Tap to Pay has been successfully activated on your account.
We’ve partnered with Live Payments to securely manage the processing of payments when you use Tap to Pay. When your customers make a payment with Tap to Pay, Live Payments will process the transaction and settle it into your Prospa Business Account on the next business day (payments made Sunday are settled on Tuesday).
Live Payment’s T&Cs apply to the Merchant Account and the processing of funds within it.
There are no setup fees or ongoing costs for Tap to Pay. There is a low 1.4% processing fee* charged per transaction, which you can choose to cover yourself or pass on to your customers by applying the customer surcharge.

We’ve partnered with Live Payments to handle the collection and processing of payments from your customers when you use Tap to Pay.
You will receive payments made with Tap to Pay from Live Payments into your Business Account the next business day.*

Yes, Tap to Pay is currently only available for customers with a Prospa Business Account. This is because payments that are received with Tap to Pay must be settled directly into a Business Account.

No, you can access Tap to Pay easily through the Prospa App, so everything is in one place.
Yes, you can send customers a receipt via email.
Once the transaction has been approved:
- Click Email receipt
- Enter the customer’s email address
- Select Send receipt
Tap to Pay works with any Android or iPhone XS or later operating with iOS 17.0
Tap to Pay utilises NFC technology built into your phone with end-to-end contactless payment encryption. Card details and PIN information are not stored on the device.
