The role
Working in the Credit Risk team, you’ll play a critical role in managing, maintaining and uplifting Prospa’s credit risk management framework. As a Lead Analyst, you’ll do this by building robust statistical models to evolve and maintain ‘best practice’ risk management within the business across PD, LGD and EAD models. You’ll also drive audit outcomes, support our financial reporting and budget setting process in partnership with our Finance team.
What you will be doing
- Collaborate with Credit Risk and other teams across Prospa to ensure the loss rates remain within the Board mandated risk appetite range
- Own and manage Credit Risk’s loss indicators, ECL and forecast with the help of analysts on the team.
- Collaborate with Prospa’s Finance, Technology, Collections teams to ensure the team continues to report accurately on losses and forecasts.
- Support the analysts on the team with portfolio deeps dives to generate meaningful insights for the ELT.
- Collaborate with;
- Credit Decision Engine team and Credit settings team to understand the changes being made around originations and understand how that is driving changes in the portfolio. Also, feedback on risks and opportunities.
- Credit Risk Policy to ensure portfolio is reflective of the policy decisions being made.
- Credit Risk Transformation team to understand how the product construct change is driving the loss indicators.
- Responsible for managing risk data systems and ensuring information accuracy to support business operations and requirements.
- Ensure all code is version controlled.
- Proactively contribute to Credit Risk’s team culture, values and ways of working.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a Credit risk portfolio management or analytics role, preferably unsecured credit for consumers or small businesses and/or within a credit risk function.
- Ability to use a variety of analytical techniques to provide actionable insights.
- Strong SQL skills essential. Tableau, Python & Databricks skills are desirable.
- Given a business problem, ability to recommend a solution, then plan and deliver the recommended solution within agreed timeframes
- Curious to experiments with new methods and techniques and share lessons with others within the Credit risk team.
- Ability to manage Credit Risk team relationships as well as more technical external stakeholders, whilst being able to interpret data to tell a meaningful story
- Is a positive influence on team members and mentors others
- An understanding of time series forecasting and ECL provisioning models is desirable.
