The role

As the Credit Risk Manager you’ll lead a team of highly skills credit risk management professionals, providing them with coaching and mentoring to continue to build future capability. Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, this role is critical in evolving Prospa’s credit risk management framework and embedding it within the organisation.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and maintain credit policies and procedures aligned with Prospa’s credit risk appetite
  • Manage controls to ensure credit decisions are made in line with Prospa practices
  • Build management reports and insights across a range of business levers
  • Develop and maintain credit models to forecast expected credit losses, using past and forward-looking data and advanced modelling techniques
  • Partner with the credit risk management team and a range of cross-functional teams including Product, Technology, Operations and Group Capital Management
  • Work with internal and external auditors and support the implementation of improvement opportunities

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in unsecured credit risk management
  • A sound understanding of credit risk management models and their applications
  • A strong mathematical and statistical background (actuary preferred but not essential)
  • Analytical programming language experience and expertise (e.g. SQL, Python, Pyspark, SAS, etc)
  • Business Intelligence tooling experience and expertise (e.g. Tableau)
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able to work independently, generate ideas and challenge the status quo
